Laura Wert-Snyder, Psy.D., earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan where she majored in Psychology. She went on to pursue a master's degree in Education and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts before receiving her doctoral degree in School and Community Psychology from Hofstra University.
Laura is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist, with extensive training and experience in comprehensive assessment, executive functioning skills training, and behavioral therapy. As Co-Director of Testing and Assessment Services at WPS, Laura specializes in conducting neuropsychological assessments and evaluations of attention/executive functioning. She provides expert direct testing services and conducts strength-based evaluations and provide tailored recommendations to improve functioning across settings. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and provides short-term therapy support for children, adolescents, and families. Laura also specializes in Executive Functioning Skills (EFS) Training to provide tools and strategies that improve organization, time management, and study skills. Laura is a professional member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and outside of WPS she works as a school psychologist for children with special needs. At home, Laura spends time traveling with her husband and enjoys photography. |
